Angelle Baudin met her husband, Jeremiah Gooding in 2008.
Our first date was at Tsunami Restaurant in Lafayette, after dinner we made our way through the downtown galleries. I love seeing local art and that night happen to be the monthly ArtWalk. From then on, every month anniversary was commemorated by going to Downtown's ArtWalk.
During the course of dating Jeremiah and I purchased on old abandoned, once condemned Bed and Breakfast to start our own reception and events business.
We were very excited and somewhat nervous about the whole process. The process began with the demolition phase, which took longer to start than we had anticipated. Months later and right before Christmas Eve we finally began renovation. This moment for us was huge as a the couple, to celebrate our new venture we went to a fine Italian Restaurant. Towards the end of the evening, Jeremiah asked if I had seen the progress of the house that day, of course I had not because I was busy with my full time job at KLFY TV 10. I realized then Jeremiah was eager for me to see something, so we went right after dinner.
Once I entered the house, I noticed candles lit from the doorway upstairs into a room where the honeymoon suite would be. The room was encircled with candles with a bottle of champagne and wine glasses. Jeremiah got on one knee, pulled the beautiful ring from the box and popped the question. The answer was undoubtedly yes!
Our engagement lasted for 10 months and the wedding was October 23, 2010. On that glorious day, we were married in Parc de Lafayette downtown. Our reception followed at Esprit de Coeur, our newly opened and remodeled reception and events hall. Our venture came full circle, the reception hall was complete and our wedding the first to debut.
Anything is possible when two people look in the same direction. Our plan is to walk side by side on our great journey in marriage and business.
