Top 5 with Christian Mader

by Dege Legg

Lafayette musician Christian Mader gives us this Tuesdays's Top 5. Top 5 unorthodox recording techniques with Christian Mader (of the band Brass Bed).   1. Using a bass cabinet as a microphone for a bass cabinet. That's right: cab on cab action. 2. McCartney's celery chomping on the original "Smile." 3. The old Radio Shack mic through a cheap compression pedal. Garage rock city. 4. Echo Chambers (unfortunately they've only recently become unorthodox). 5. One overhead mic + Steven Drozd = psych - pop John Bonham.
