Last October, The Independent Weekly published our debut Restaurant Guide, and now it’s time for the spring 2008 edition.
The mission for our Restaurant Guide is to provide you with a handy, informative and up-to-date reference you can keep and peruse when you’ve got a food craving — or when you’re hungry and stumped where to eat. We’ve called every restaurant included and confirmed their hours and whether they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also asked them if they had any recent changes on their menus, so even entries for local icons like Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Tsunami, for example, spotlight new menu items and current specials.
Space considerations prevent us from fast-food joints and national chain restaurants with beaucoup locations; we trust that if you’re a fan of Sonic or Chili’s, for example, you know where they are and are familiar with their menu staples. And if you’re wondering, the list is compiled by the Independent’s editorial staff and isn’t influenced by advertising considerations.
We will be publishing our Restaurant Guide twice a year, with our next edition coming out in the fall. So if you’ve got any suggestions on places we missed, don’t hesitate to e-mail us at indbox@theind.com. We got a number of terrific suggestions after our Fall Restaurant Guide from readers on out-of-the way eateries, and we’ll be covering those spots in an upcoming issue.
