A couple of teasers: "For every five new subscribers we get in New Orleans, we get one in Acadiana. We're not as aggressive over there. ... We did add a social columnist [in Acadiana]. We did a model that we think readers want - more local community news." "I don't think Ray [Nagin] led a life of crime and ambition for power."
LaPolitics news service has just posted its Q&A with businessman/Advocate Publisher John Georges, and he weighs in on just about everything, including his former business partner, Ray Nagin.
Georges, in fact, has a lot (of head-scratching things) to say. Among the greatest hits: - "I think [Mitch Landrieu is] going to run on the national scene." - "I'm sad [Ray Nagin] didn't put on a bigger or better defense I don't think Ray led a life of crime and ambition for power." - "The Times-Pic is like new Coke We believe we can take half of The Times-Picayune's readers." - "I haven't polled myself in a year, but I do poll myself regularly. Prior to the newspaper, my numbers were pretty good." - "I think it's interesting that my name is never mentioned [for governor]." - "I think if it weren't for this Obamacare, Mary [Landrieu] would be viable." - "I think it's going to be a different Jindal. You're almost going to be in shock." - "For every five new subscribers we get in New Orleans, we get one in Acadiana. We're not as aggressive over there. We did add obituaries. We did add a social columnist. We did a model that we think readers want - more local community news."
