‘Swamp People' seeking swamp people

The popular History Channel reality series Swamp People is seeking a new batch of rough-hewn stereotypes, and producers will be in Lafayette in a early August to conduct auditions. To be considered for the program, would-be swamp people must be alligator hunters licensed in Louisiana or Texas who have at least 50 tags.

The auditions in Lafayette will be held from noon-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at Bootlegger's Bar downtown on Jefferson Street. Auditions will also be held in Baton Rouge this Sunday and in Houma on Saturday, July 28. To find out more send an email to SwampPeopleLA@gmail.com.
